Murthal is one of the largest villages in Sonipat district of Haryana in Northern India. It is about 48 km from the union territory, New Delhi. The Murthal was just small village along the National Highway 1 about 20 years ago. Now it is one of the fastest growing villages in Haryana. As far as history of Murthal is concerned, the name of village is suggested to have originated from the word “Muni Sthal” meaning devotee’s place of meditation. The Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway is being constructed in the Indian state of Haryana into three sections of 45 km each for having easy connectivity between Kundli, Manesar and Palwal by road. It is 135.6 km and will play an important role for Delhi commuters as well. It will act as bypass for traffic north of Delhi on NH1 and going towards south of Delhi on NH 2 or west of Delhi on NH 8.

The KMP Expressway is also called as Delhi Western Peripheral Expressway.
